Description
A particularly family-friendly toboggan run can be found on Mount Plose near Brixen. The RudiRun starts directly at the top station of the Mount Plose gondola and winds its way downhill through the forest. Along the way, the trail opens up to beautiful views of the Dolomites and the surrounding mountain landscape.
The route is not too steep and is very well secured, making it ideal for tobogganing with children. From the top station to the mid-station, the RudiRun offers around 4 kilometres of tobogganing fun (RudiRun 4.0). With good snow conditions and sufficient natural snow, the lower section down to the valley station is also open – extending the experience to a total of 9 kilometres (RudiRun 9.0).
Playground & Views at the Top Station
Right at the top station, you’ll find the iconic wooden Plose sign, a popular photo spot with impressive views of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites.
Families will also appreciate the creative climbing and balancing playground, which offers plenty of variety and is perfect for children who want to burn off some energy between toboggan runs.
Plose Bob – Action with a View
If you’re looking for even more excitement in addition to tobogganing on Mount Plose, the Plose Bob is well worth a try. Riding on rails, you speed through the snow-covered winter forest, navigating plenty of curves at good speed. The launch itself is already a highlight: a rocket-style start with countdown sends you through a glowing tunnel – great fun for small and big space fans alike. After the fast descent, you are pulled back uphill before riding one final section above the forest. Here, a stunning view of the surrounding mountain scenery awaits.
Family-Friendly Dining: Restaurant La Finestra
Located directly at the top station, Restaurant La Finestra is a very family-friendly place offering Alpine–Mediterranean cuisine and a good selection of children’s dishes. The name says it all: with its large glass front, the restaurant feels like a window onto the mountains – the perfect place to warm up after tobogganing on Mount Plose while enjoying views of the mountains around Brixen.
