We love this excursion because it offers so many flexible options – perfect for both your kids’ moods and your budget.
Since 2025, the brand-new Marinzen cable car has been in operation – and cabin number 1 features a glass floor! A real thrill for adventurous kids and parents! There are 28 cabins in total, so even if you miss number 1, your wait will only be about 20 minutes. The cabins are spacious – no problem fitting in with a stroller.
The Alpin Marinzen Hut is located right next to the upper lift station. There you’ll find a fantastic playground with a marble run, slide, climbing structures, and a water park. If you’re looking for something a bit more tranquil, a short walk takes you to a picturesque pond. You’ll also find a variety of hiking trails starting from the hut – for example, to Alpe di Siusi (about 1 hour and 10 minutes) or to the Schafstallhütte (around 20 minutes – steep and partly rocky, but manageable with a stroller if two people push – excellent food and a small playground included).
From experience, we know how quickly costs can add up on a family day out. That’s why this destination is great – you can tailor your day to suit your needs:
- The full experience: take the gondola both ways and enjoy lunch at the hut
- Hike up and/or down (about 1 hour 20 minutes – steep, but doable with a stroller) and only use the lift one way
- Or ride up, bring a picnic, and just pop by the hut for an ice cream (if you’re using the playground, a small purchase at the hut is appreciated ;-))
No matter how you spend the day – we hope you have a fantastic time!
