Route description

The Adventure Park at Speikboden is a highlight for children of all ages – and we adults always have a great time there too! A comfortable gondola ride takes you up the mountain, and from the top station, it’s just a short walk to the various attractions.

The absolute highlight is the CROSS WOODS forest slide park – the first of its kind in all of Italy! Four spectacular slides wind their way through the woods, and the fun isn’t just for kids. Adults love it too! For just €5, you can rent a sliding mat and whizz down the slides all day long.

Right next to the slide park, you’ll find a playground with a water raft – perfect for a little break. Also nearby is the Pirate’s Via Ferrata, a child-friendly climbing route designed especially for kids aged 6 and up. All necessary gear can be rented on-site.

Our tip: We always start the day with a visit to the petting zoo at the top of the area, then make our way downhill toward the playground and slide park – where we usually spend the rest of the day. There’s a grassy area there that’s perfect for a picnic.

The petting zoo is home to a variety of animals – please treat them with respect and care. Right next to it is a small wooden hut where children can jump in hay or visit the wood-shaving station to craft their own stone pine cushion – a lovely souvenir to take home!

Insider tip: Instead of taking the main path from the petting zoo to the slide park, follow the narrower trail through the forest above – about halfway along, you’ll discover a super cool treehouse slide tucked away in the woods!
The entire area is stroller-friendly, making it easy and enjoyable even for families with very young children.

If you’re looking for a nice place to eat, we recommend the Trejer Alm. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the mountain station along a well-marked forest path. Just above the hut lies Trejer Lake, a beautiful, peaceful pond and officially protected biotope – about a 10-minute walk from the Trejer Alm.

You can find up-to-date gondola ticket prices on the official Skiworld Ahrntal website.
