Description

Rainguthof Animal World, located along the Gampen Pass road, is a true paradise for kids: cuddle and feed the animals, run wild on the playground, and splash around in the water – the perfect combination for a fun family outing.

Admission is free, though voluntary donations are welcome. For just €1, you can buy animal feed to give to dwarf goats, sheep, pot-bellied pigs, and many more friendly residents. You’ll also encounter peacocks, pheasants, camels, deer, and a wide variety of other animals across the grounds.

Heads up: Some goats roam freely and love to playfully sneak snacks – watch your bags!
The playground is nicely shaded, offering a welcome break from the summer sun. There are picnic areas on-site and a small water play area (don’t forget a change of clothes!). Depending on the season and day of the week, you might also find small regional snacks like Speck or cheese platters available for purchase.

If you’d like to combine your visit with a short hike, you can start from the Gfrillerhof inn in Gfrill. A signposted trail leads directly to Rainguthof (30–40 minutes, not suitable for strollers).

Alternatively, you can drive straight to Rainguthof – free parking is available right at the entrance. For those using public transport, bus line 246 stops directly at the zoo.
