Pfelders in Passeier Valley offers the perfect combination for families looking to enjoy nature in winter: an idyllic winter hike with a stunning mountain panorama and an easy toboggan descent that is fun for everyone (I recommend checking the snow conditions with the tourist office in advance).

The hike to the Lazinser Hof in Moos, Passeier Valley, is especially family-friendly as the path is gently inclined, and the destination is a cozy, family-oriented hut with a small playground. Nestled in a beautiful mountain backdrop, this is the ideal spot for a break. Please check the opening hours in advance on their website.

Tobogganing Fun in Winter – Return Journey with the Toboggan

The highlight: You can return on your toboggan in winter! Please note that this is not an official toboggan track, so be cautious and considerate of other hikers. If you plan to toboggan, remember to bring your own toboggan, as there is no toboggan rental at the hut.

How to Reach the Lazinser Hof

You can park your car at the large public parking lot before the village of Pfelders – only residents and guests are allowed to drive into the village itself. From there, follow the trail signs towards “Lazinser Alm” (Trail No. 8). However, we don’t go all the way to the Lazinser Alm, but instead to the closer Lazinser Hof.

Once you’ve left the village behind, you’ll quickly reach a wide forest road that is perfect for a gentle toboggan ride in winter. Shortly afterward, you’ll pass the Spider Park on the right, a climbing park that’s very popular with kids in summer. The path steadily climbs through the forest, and after about 45 minutes, you’ll reach the Lazinser Hof. There, you’ll find a small playground (with a little stream – cold in winter but perfect in summer) and great South Tyrolean dishes.

The return journey can be made either by toboggan or by foot.

An important note if you’re not using a toboggan but a stroller: the entire route is stroller-friendly.

Winter Sports in Pfelders – Ice Skating and Skiing for the Whole Family

For all winter sports enthusiasts, Pfelders has even more to offer: Right at the valley floor, just a few minutes from the hiking trail, you’ll find a small ice rink with skate rentals and skating aids for children. For young skiers, there’s a dedicated practice area with two magic carpets and plenty of space to try out their first turns and slides on the snowy slopes. Ski lifts are also available, so both beginners and advanced skiers can enjoy the area.
